I have a cousin that works for a company that installs the sound  
equipment (mostly just the hardware stuff - not so much the  
sound checks) for rock bands playing at various venues when they  
visit his city.  But I am sure he sticks around to make sure the  
various speakers sound right and the mics function.  I'm not in  
touch with my cuz, but he has rubbed shoulders with some of  
those celebs.

Many of today's speaker pairs can't be all that bad if they are  
priced for the audiophile and still in business after decades.

I was partial to owning a pair of Polks at one time.

Nothing beats listening to music in the open air.
