But the problem would be to [1] send the audio to the home stereo system, and [2] operate for more than 5 hours at a time before needing to change the battery. I can't keep the phone on AC/ charger because the USB port is broken. A tablet could work better (being plugged into AC all the time), but I don't have a tablet, and I don't really want to yet acquire more tech. I have a fine T40 Thinkpad that would work perfectly - it would sit nicely next to the main system without too much trouble (compared to a large noisy desktop), and I just have to replace the fan so that it can boot up properly. I am really looking forward to try that home-server solution. You can even control the output of the stream to another device.
