Subj : and the 7 row ThinkPad keyboard To : Andrew Leary From : August Abolins Date : Fri Mar 25 2022 09:01:00 Hello Andrew Leary! ** On Friday 25.03.22 - 00:20, Andrew Leary wrote to Sean Dennis: SD>> I'd love to get a last-generation IBM Thinkpad. That's the machine I probably should have settled for the T540p. But.. I was focused on having a keyborad with a built- in numeric keypad. I do a lot of numerical entries. Now, I see that I could have just as well added a USB numeric keypad. The single-key design for Alt-LEFT-Arrow and Alt-RIGHT-Arrow for going back and forth on browser pages is very handy too. The T540p also replaces the fine 4 button touch-pad with a single tilting design. It sticks and feels weird. AL> I wouldn't mind finding a ThinkPad 25 (the 25th AL> anniversary edition where they brought back the 7 row AL> keyboard,) but those are extremely rare and expensive. I did not hear of that one. WHEN was it released? 2017? $1899 @lenovo. Hmmmm.. not too bad. I paid around $900 for my refurbished T540p on Jan 2020, pre-covid. It's an i5 2.6Ghz, 1TB SSD + DVD/RW. I really wanted and needed the built-in DVD/RW too. -- ../|ug --- OpenXP 5.0.51 * Origin: (} Pointy McPointface (618:250/1.9) .
