Vista really wasn't that bad.. I think the only people that hated it didn't
have good enough machines to run it.. Which sucks.. but that doesn't exactly
make an OS bad.. Windows Me was bad because it was unstable.. not because it
was slow.. so cant put Vista on the same level as Windows Me.  :)  Even though
I actually kinda liked Windows Me when it came out as well.. So I guess I was
just lucky then? :)

As for playing older games I can do that fairly well on my newer system as I
run Linux and most older titles run perfectly fine under Wine.  But my Windows
98se box is great for that as well.   But I also do more useful things on that
box as well.. since it has a browser that works and the version of mIRC and
putty I have on it works great as well.. so I can do my IRC and other stuff
that I do just fine on 98se. (and yes SSL is functional in the one web browser
and mIRC.)
