I used to have a phone in my friends house in Ajax that would foward me to the ISP in Toronto. That's how I initially brought the internet to my BBS. First UUCP, then a dedicated connection at 33.6, and after that ISDN. By that point I had switched to running the ISP and sold it shortly after that.
