Yes, I could do the same on my firewall.. Just didn't want to change from the default of tcp/23 to the outside world. There are so many bots scanning IPs and ports, they will eventually start hitting the other ports anyway. There is a way to set my firewall to only allow one tcp/23 per IP at a single time. I have that set to minimize things. Never a perfect solution, but cuts down on the garbage.
