No, it does not.  Connects on 3141, IIRC, are meant to be VMODEM-to-VMODEM
connects and are 8-bit connections, I believe.  VMODEM.EXE listens on port 23
(can't change that) and port 3141 (you CAN change that by changing the value of
 the VMOTELNET value in the services file) by default.
