Subj : Software Quirks To : All From : Kevin Nunn Date : Thu Aug 01 2019 17:04:25 So, since taking over the hub200 duties, I've been tweaking things on the BBS computer, trying to make things run smoother etc. Well, the last few days I've noticed not echo messages on the BBS, so I start investigating. Fastecho is reporting an error 2 when unpacking packets. So, I go into the inbound directory and manually unpack the files and it works fine. So I toss stuff into the BBS directly from the PKT files (lots of them - thank God for wildcards). Then I tracked down the problem. Last week I saw that ArcaOS2 had the ramdrive program, so I set one up as drive T, and changed all my temp paths to use T. Well - after a reboot earlier this week. The ramdrive was recreated, but didn't have the directory that fastecho was using for the temp directory in the unpack command. So unzip was failing. With the speed of today's HDs and computers, I really don't need a ramdrive. So I'll be removing it and switching things back to the real hard drive, but that was an interesting troubleshooting session.
