in 1995 Redhat would have been publishing its 1st beta release.

I got in on version 2.x lucky enough but I remember having issues with SCSI 
and the display. 

Debian was also very unhatched in 1995 version 1.1 

The public library had the catalog computers before that running some type of 
*nix as far back as I can remeber. Really nice Amber and Greenfoss screen 
Terminals with likely a huge server in the basement. Likely the most stable of
computer systems ever put to use. Had a few hops to various librarys and
you were at a shell prompt.  small group of users camping in there with you.
