I could never understand why the Mattel decision of hard-wired controllers in
the Intv-II along with some weird change to the chipset so the Intellivoice
and Shark Shark ran a little different.

Dungeons and Dragons would likely be my favourite. Kill the monsters and 
grab the treasures. But no annoying soundtrack. In fact no sound at all
except the approaching monsters. The caves light up only part of the way...

What a perfect game to binge in the dark. I think its what sold the system. 
That and the baseball game was a million years ahead of the Atari 2600.
