i said this before, but what i do is ban, and then whitelist the person when
they solve the challenge.  i still get lots of attacks, just like everyone
does.

i'm also running on hosted servers and not at home, so that kind of makes my
situation worse.

i havent ever had attacks cripple my systems, though.
