Its important to me that the user cannot see what url they are connecting to.

I got that much figured out. 
Maybe we could talk about terminal detection and how to present the proper 
menuset to the users of various screen settings.

This is where Synchronet is going to have a big advantage to make everthing 
work perfectly.
Ie: 80x25 ansi 80x24 ansi 132x37 ansi vs 40x12 ascii

I want to support at least those. and have data standing by.
Rapid RTFM I have some idea of what to do.
