Subj : ssh/sftp stuff To : All From : nelgin Date : Thu Feb 29 2024 20:19:10 Hi all, I'm please to announce that End Of The Line BBS will now allow you to transfer files via sftp. It works just like regular ftp but is secure and generally not as feature rich, but it does pretty much what you need to transfer files. One "gotchya" is that the / sign is automatically converted, based on your encoding settings, so you'll probably want to cut & paste any part of names that have a / in. For example, any OS/2 groups. The second addition is for ssh public keys. I'm waiting for a couple of things to be added so that users can edit their own ssh keyfile, but in the meantime, if you want to netmail me your public key from the BBS, not using an external email client, then I will add it. Sending from the BBS lets me find your user number easier. I would recommend an RSA key since the libcrypt we're using doesn't support some of the later encryption methods. Feel free to post here or email me privately if you have any questions. Thanks, Nigel .
