Subj : Printer - CUPS follow-up To : All From : Barry Martin Date : Tue Dec 02 2025 15:42:00 Hopefully these get read in sequence! This is #3 (second for the current upload mailrun). Here editing the CUPS file to comment out the orphaned commands at the very end and restarting CUPS fixed the problem. At the Ask Ubuntu post indicates, only remove or comment out the (four) lines at the very end. I made a backup file just in case -- didn't need. They said to restart CUPS. I was curious and mine wasn't running at all: status returned inactive/dead. (Cue the thread in Chit Chat with Daryl about the parrot! , so instead of "sudo systemctl restart cups" I did stop then start. Not sure if it would make any difference I've had a times when the restart command is too fast. ¯ ® ¯ BarryMartin3@MyMetronet.NET ® ¯ ® .... I took the shell off my racing snail to make faster; made more sluggish. --- MultiMail/Win32 v0.47 þ wcECHO 4.2 ÷ ILink: The Safe BBS þ Bettendorf, IA þ RNET 2.10U: ILink: Techware BBS þ Hollywood, Ca þ www.techware2k.com --- QScan/PCB v1.20a / 01-0462 * Origin: ILink: CFBBS | cfbbs.no-ip.com (454:1/1) .
