Basically the same issue as held versions of pretty much anything, then. 
I finally had to unhold an old font manager I liked better, because of this.

So it appears. And they don't have any procedure for catching up. Fedora 
can jump two versions by default, but you can also bring an old one 
forward from several years ago, two versions at a time. With Debian, 
apparently not.

Those basic window managers are like that. JWM never misbehaves either, 
that I've seen.

But the problem seems to be either in the kernel or in fedora, cuz it's 
not in KDE. Same KDE on top, no trouble. But had to boot from previous 
kernel. And for some reason it had kept two.

Well, there's a full version upgrade soon, so hopefully it'll fix itself.
