Nah, there's no code for the GPIO (40 pin) header, and nothing to do with Ubuntu It's all hardware and firmware. You have to write and run Python scripts to control each pin individually. ExplainingComputers youtube channel has done a few vids on simple scripts, to control a weather station and a toy robot, stuff like that.
