I've not been bumped but have been present when BM>there is an announcement for volunteers. I might consider if on the BM>way back home; on the way out too much inconvenience for my parents, BM>now my Mother. DS> I'm reminded of the joke the late Red Skelton noted once. On a DS> flight, the stewardess asked the priest if he wanted a drink of DS> an alcoholic beverage, and he replied "Nope...can't take a chance DS> on it. Too close to the main office"!! That one I don't remember! BM>Think we'll ever so that option come up for a vote? If the government BM>employees can't get paid why should the people in government? Illinois BM>had several goverment shut-downs due to not passing a budget and several BM>legistlators refused to take their paychecks or did and donated to BM>charities, etc., which were not receiving their state funds. DS> I heard that the Texas State Legislature in Austin got paid DS> ONLY when they were in session, working...and NOT for recess, DS> etc. Shoot, Congress gets more time on recess than I ever did DS> growing up!! It seems the schools are closed and do late-starts/early-dismissals a heck of a lot more than I rmemember when I was going to school. I will admit the comparison is skewed: I went to public school in the city and while surrounded by small towns, etc., they took care of their own students. Here I'm still in the city and still most of the rural kids go to the outlaying towns. Just now I generally watch TV while eating breakfast (never did that when growing up!) and so exposed to the announcements -- plus done on the crawl at the bottom of the screen and I don't think that was an option back then. ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
