They're forecasting strong storms between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. this 
afternoon.  Right now (~7 a.m.) there's a colourful system along the
northern boarder of Iowa and heading north-north-east so it's a 
different cluster.

Sort of reminds me of when I blew a UPS when testing a computer I was 
building: puch the power button, BAM!.  Was years ago when the Power switch 
actually directly switched the power on and off.  Found out they had 
wired the switch wrong, so pushing the switch caused a short (!).
