Yes: back in my earlier BBS days a group of us were beta testers for 
RoseReader (off-line mail reader).  I can't recall the quirk but a few 
of us including myself had it.  We did find it wasn't in the
configuration as a few of us swapped the file.  ...Unfortunately never 
did find the source of the problem.
