Have at least one all-purpose fire extinguisher in a cental location but located on the side of the exit: one does not want to be fighting a fire from the dead end side and be trapped! Defib is probably overkill (did I mean to say that?!) but a First Aid Kit is another must. As for the shut-off switch, know where the shut-off valves for water and natural gas are.
