Subj : Other Ham Radio News To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Thu Nov 04 2021 07:34:00 Hi Daryl! DS> They'll bring in movers from Stonybrook Farms. BM> And Rebecca the Riveter?! DS> Rosie was out to lunch. The liquid kind?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2L8M8WPc_c&ab_channel=CaroEmerald-Topic (Good Grief! When did those links get so long?!) BM> If Trick or Treat was aimed at adults I might agree wih the sign but as BM> to kids, no. For the past several years we have been "party poopers" BM> when it comes to Trick or Treat mainly because was having too many BM> 'old' Trick or Treaters allegedly collecting for a sick younger brother BM> or sister. DS> There was a report of a sex offender opening the door NUDE to DS> the kids, and inviting them inside. He was arrested shortly DS> thereafter. Comments withheld other than does remind me I do recall the local police departments on both sides of the River have conducted sweeps to verify where registered sex offenders are, I'm thinking before Halloween but not certain as didn't hear anything on the news about it this year. BM> Maybe rinsing out the gunk building up behind the eyeballs! DS> I'm having trouble with it during the day, so I may end up DS> selling the car sooner than expected. Sounds like it. Don't sell before the appointments so you can get to the eye doctor! (OTOH you need to see to get there!) BM> Wonder if you'll need corneal replacement surgery? DS> I certainly hope not. I was involved in quite a few years ago: friend's aunt had the surgery and she also had a bit of dementia so didn't trust her to put the drops in on time and properly. He created a schedule of several people she knew (including myself) and we'd show up to instill the drops and visit a bit. (She was more than lucid enough to know why we were putting drops in.) ...Stick in there some place the schedule was updated weekly as his and my work schedule wasn't constant (which in a way worked out better as we could frequently do day shifts.) DS> Not quite. My weight is holding steady, but I seem to be on the DS> balanced diet...but getting more in the belly than in the bottom. :P BM> I know that look! :( DS> But, with too little insulation (especially when it's cold DS> outside), those concrete benches are very difficult to sit on. BM> I prefer to have my water cold so add ice. Have considered flavourings BM> but pre-flavoured water is too expensive; haven't seen any 'flavouring BM> kits' at Hy-Vee, though haven't look overly hard. Wandered Amazon a BM> bit a while back -- potential. One of those lower on the needs ladder; BM> got bumped down a rung when I had to buy a new UPS -- was overcharging BM> the batteries and breaking their seal. Then the 'Holidaze' coming up; BM> don't go wild on presents fortunately. DS> Some places charge extra for no ice or light ice. The fall deer DS> hunting season starts here soon...possibly this weekend. Ice takes up room in the glass. Ice is cheaper than pop and that's pretty cheap. Locally we have a restricted deer-hunting season in Scott County Park. IIRC it's bow and arrow in the Park, or maybe bow and arrow for a time and hunting a different time. Other restictions in place as done to thin the herd so the population doesn't outgrow the Park. And speaking of deer, wonder how the local ones are doing? Every so often see a few wandering around the neighbourbood!! Years ago had a mother and doe in the back yard -- saw them before going to work. Unfortunately was before my cell phone had a camera. BM> Seems like you should be able to, but does the nurse? Gluteus medius, BM> anyone!! DS> That's what I was hoping for. :P Just don't do it during Halloween! (see --gaaaah!!-- above) BM> Actually: BM> Injection Site+ BM> +Alternately, the anterolateral thigh can be used. A 1.5-inch needle BM> may BM> be used if administering vaccine in this site. DS> As long as it isn't barbed wire. :P Only hurts when being removed! BM> Some experts recommend a 5/8-inch needle for men and women who weigh BM> less 130 pounds. If used, skin must be stretched tightly (do not bunch BM> subcutaneous tissue). DS> I'm way above that. So a longer needle to get through all the adipose tissue back there?! BM> I'm thinking the upper arm is the site of choice because it's handy -- BM> at a reasonable level with relation to the person giving the shot, plus BM> isn't a 'revealing' site. DS> But my arm is so sore for 12-24 hours afterwards, and it's hard DS> to sleep with the pain. And, I have to be careful with the amount DS> of pain meds that I take. Cue Caro Emerald! BM> ... Wisdom: Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Deal with it. DS> It reminds me of the joke, wondering what the difference is DS> between prose and poetry. Well, they said poetry rhymes, and DS> prose does not. DS> So, the example was: DS> Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus. DS> Men like cars. Women like.... DS> Well, what do you want?? Prose or Poetry?? There once was a man from Little Rock Who had a DS> ... Cakes: 66 cents. Upside Down Cakes: 99 cents. ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® .... Gouda cheese: $2.00/lb.
