Subj : Local License Exam Update To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Tue Jun 22 2021 08:08:00 Hi Daryl! BM> Yes, that issue tends to put a damper on things. I'm thinking the way BM> to approach things is to ask the other examiners about switching to the BM> quarterly examinations. Also ask if they have any testing location BM> considerations - heck, one might be a member of the Loyal Order of BM> Rabbits and can use their lodge, err, hutch. Otherwise meet with BM> scheduling at the library, coordinate with other groups (second BM> Saturday may be a tight turnaround from a previous group but no BM> problems with third Saturday). DS> I usually do the exams in the mornings, so if they have things DS> to do in the afternoon, that frees them up. For me, that deal is DS> on the 3rd Saturday. Yes, though that's a "please all, please none" situtiom. Personally I'd also like the exam time to be in the morning, but not too early. DS> As for locations, we have a room at the local college we can DS> use...but I still haven't heard from the Central Arkansas Library DS> System. At least one person has committed to taking the exam...I DS> hope I get more. Now that's another consideration: number of people taking the test. I'm thinking if limit the number while planning you could fit easier: more conferencee rooms than lecture halls. DS> The time they really show up is right around the DS> time a question pool for that license is to change (they do so DS> every 4 years, to keep up with technology changes, etc.). Yet, DS> some examinees fail to realize that...and they end up studying DS> the WRONG material, and failing the test. Basically, they wasted DS> their time and money. They didn't think it odd the diagram showed a 12AX7? DS> Or the latest blooper...the preacher and his wife reported that DS> on their recent vacation, they visited places that no longer DS> exist. Time travelling? DS> ... What happens to an 18 hour bra after 18 hours?? You don't want to know! The topic did come up when the supervisor (female) and I were working in the Intimates Department -- jokingly -- some rather shall we say 'unusual' garments and our store was relatively staid. Some other night we were closing and so going through doing final straightening, make sure no customers left (there have been time when we've escorted customers out after several closing anouncements, the lights have goe to half -- "oh! you're closed?"). Anyway, sometimes the (assumed young) customers thought it funny to 'pants' the displays: pull down the underwear 'exposing' the mannequin or displayer. This night Sheila comes across a pantsed display -- this one is just the waist area held up by a support stake. We burst out laughing as the mannequin is essentially a blow mold so a site is needed during manufacture to force in the air. Unfortunately the location of this one is close to anatomically correct..... ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ....
