Subj : Health Scare To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Fri Jun 12 2020 19:27:00 Hi Daryl! BM> I think OfficeMax/Office Depot sends out the occasion dollar or BM> percentage off e-mail coupon: sign up for their e-mails. (Might be BM> thinking of some other promo.) DS> I am a member of the rewards deal at Office Depot and Best Buy. DS> I looked last night, and I think there was a 13 port USB deal DS> from Office Depot, but it was out of stock. One was USB 2.0, but DS> I'd rather have USB 3.0 or later. Yes, I would also. While UBS 2.0 may be satisfactory now may not be later, potentially causing a bottleneck. And sort of a barely-touching-the-circle tangent, I had a scanner which was old enough it would not have known about USB 3.0, so designed for the USB 2.0 standards, 500 mA maximum. With an original setup (physical placements) it was plugged into a USB 2 powered hub -- did fine, but to me seemed a little sluggish and bogged down. Moved stuff around, plugged it into a powered USB 3.0 hub: much peppier and less 'grindy'. BM> IMO posting an ad too often does the opposite of what is intended: BM> tends more to turn the potential customer away rather than attract. DS> I want folks to logon because they WANT to...NOT because they DS> have to. In one of my ham radio applications, I noted info on the DS> BBS...talk about a shameless plug. Different strokes for different folks! I prefer a simple log-in process, but also realize there are all sortso of bots out there, people and things wanting to do nothing but destroy, so a bit of low fence jumping is fine. BM> Seems to have. Did see him the day after: sort of sat at a short BM> distance looking rather sad and confused. Hadn't seen his girlfriend BM> at all: LIS one day when he was almost constantly trying to fly through BM> the window she was on the railing maybe 10' away with that look of BM> resignation: "you're such an idiot!" DS> I've wondered if the animal kingdom communicates like that. Some people think yes, they're smart enough while others think no, they're too stupid. Most, well, let's make that many -- humans tend to 'humanify' what they see happening in the animal kingdom, I'm thinking mostly to help understand - give a starting point based on what we know. Not necessarily correct, not necessarily wrong. They also say talking to plants is advantageous; doesn't seem to hinder. ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
