Subj : Health Scare To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Fri Apr 17 2020 08:26:00 Hi Daryl! DS> This feels strange...typing via QWK Mail instead of email. This must have been your first entry -- mine started with ChitChat and ended here. Was surprised to see you as you indicated May 1. So welcome back, the ballons and streamers are on back order! I htnik some of the streamers have been used for masks. DS> But, I did send a note to my hubs to remove the CM (Continuous DS> Mail) flag from my nodelist entry. It has been a very stormy DS> spring (as per our emails), and I couldn't see doing any BBS work DS> with storms practically every day. With the nodelist change DS> submissions, I'm not going to make any FTN mail runs until DS> Friday, except for QWK Networking. One does not want to have to wait until the smoke clears because that means something happened to let the smoke out in the first place! BM>"Yup: allergic to dust, dander... all the usualy stuff!" I might BM>try elevating the head of the bed a bit -- your chest, neck and head to BM>avoid 'kinking' of the spine -- to see if the elevation helps redirect BM>the drainage so it doesn't bother you (as much). The allergen tests BM>ruled out a bunch of options, so we somewhat know what's not the causal BM>agent. DS> Well, it isn't from pet dander, as I don't have any over here. DS> But, the pollen (tree, grass, etc.) is through the roof on its DS> levels. To make matters worse, the birds are back in force, DS> pooping on the cars. "You'd think those humans would learn to quit parking under wires and trees!" A few days ago we had a bird constantly trying to fly through the Dining Room picture window -- you'd think he'd get the idea after the first fifty tries! Ended up taping strips of aluminum foil to the window and that eventually worked. At first no breeze so the strips just hung there. Bird came back - looked around trying to figure out what this shiny stuff was. Even sat on the window sill and looked in, looking sad, but eventually flew off. ....Um, weak attempt to be topical - wonder if those aluminum strips blowing in the breeze gave the 'wow-wow-wow' effect like the rotating speakers in organ speaker? BM>Glad you fixed yourself! Sometimes just extended sitting in the 'wrong' BM>position will do it. I find sitting in some recliners for a while and BM>my legs "get uncomfortable" -- lowering the foot/leg portion solves BM>that. Maybe repositioning your car seat a bit would be helpful -- maybe BM>lowering the front of the seat slightly (the portion close to your BM>knees) and possibly moving the back support portion a bit so as to open BM>up (increase) the lumbosacral angle. May have to move the seat itself BM>forward (or backward) for proper contact with the brake and gas pedal, BM>maybe even up a bit so you're not hiding behind the dash.... DS> I've found if I sit to long, either in a chair, or on the DS> toilet, my legs and feet tend to go to sleep. So, I have to DS> stretch out, as it were...but it's a little harder to do "on the DS> throne". At least I won't be like a woman in southeast Missouri DS> one night, when an earthquake on the New Madrid Fault hit...it DS> literally shook her right off of the toilet!! Could try one of those 'Squatty Potties' to elevate the feet. Designed to wrk with the anatomical configuration of the intestines but would keep pressure off the nerves and muscles of the hamstring area, As for the New Madrid Fault shift, wasn't nearly that bad up here. I thought someone slammed a door (living at the apartment at the time). Someone was waiting in their pickup and thought a kid jumped on the tailgate but didn't see anyone. ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
