Subj : Health Scare To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Sat Feb 22 2020 09:34:00 Hi Daryl! BM>Good thing you don't use a CPAP!! DS> I hack so much from sinus drain, and even if I take NyQuil, it DS> takes a bit to "kick in". But, when nature wakes me at night, DS> upon lying back down, the hacking starts again. They have no idea DS> why, as they did a whole battery of allergen tests, and there was DS> nothing unusual. "Yup: allergic to dust, dander... all the usualy stuff!" I might try elevating the head of the bed a bit -- your chest, neck and head to avoid 'kinking' of the spine -- to see if the elevation helps redirect the drainage so it doesn't bother you (as much). The allergen tests ruled out a bunch of options, so we somewhat know what's not the causal agent. BM>When I was working at the college one of the secretaries said she was BM>pretty sure the typing helped to keep her arthritis minimized: constant BM>flexing/movement of the hands. DS> Today, on the way back from west Little Rock, my right foot DS> seemed to go numb, like there was something stuck on my shoe. I DS> had to drive with the left foot for a bit (good thing I was in DS> town). It's OK now, but not sure what caused that. Years ago, the DS> arthritis kicked in, and it felt like all 10 toes were curling DS> under...and it hurt like mad. I was in Cabot, about 25 miles DS> northeast of Little Rock, and I thought I'd have to have folks DS> call the ambulance for me. Today, I thought I'd have to go to the DS> Emergency Room, but it has stabilized now. Glad you fixed yourself! Sometimes just extended sitting in the 'wrong' position will do it. I find sitting in some recliners for a while and my legs "get uncomfortable" -- lowering the foot/leg portion solves that. Maybe repositioning your car seat a bit would be helpful -- maybe lowering the front of the seat slightly (the portion close to your knees) and possibly moving the back support portion a bit so as to open up (increase) the lumbosacral angle. May have to move the seat itself forward (or backward) for proper contact with the brake and gas pedal, maybe even up a bit so you're not hiding behind the dash.... ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® .... I will not cut corners.
