Subj : Wednesday Ham Radio Nets To : JIMMY ANDERSON From : Daryl Stout Date : Wed May 15 2019 11:44:00 Jimmy, JA> DS> I don't know if a telnet client for Mac would work or not...but you JA> DS> can also access it via your web browser. Go to ftp://tbolt.synchro.net JA> DS> and go to the D-Rats Shared Files Area. Look for the file on "The PCL JA> DS> Net" fore details. JA>Will check on that now... As for Telnet, that's how I connect to the JA>BBS I message from. :-) JA>Hmm... ftp not connecting as guest... Go to ftp://tbolt.synchro.net instead -- look for the Ham Radio Files area, and the file PCL_NET.PDF -- that'll give you the info. If nothing else, email me at wx4qz at arrl dot net -- I'll send it that way. JA> DS> First, get yourself better...you can worry about the BBS and JA> DS> everything else later. Well, I pray I don't get sick the rest of the year. With finances so tight, I cancelled all the medical procedures I had scheduled for the rest of the year...unless it's an EMERGENCY. JA>Well the BBS traffic was keeping my mind going while I was sick :-) But JA>I'm MUCH much better now!!! When I'm ill, I just take a pain med, and go to sleep...that is, if it's not stormy outside, with the close lightning strikes and resulting thunderclap blasting me out of bed...see tagline below. JA>Good luck with the procedures!!! Cancelled them...finances are tighter than a frogs butt under water right now. JA>I understand! I had plans to hit some MAJOR x-wing tourneys over the summer, JA>but so far they are falling through so I can spend more time with family. JA>Not complaining, but would nice to have it all. LOL Or like the guy who wanted to date two women at the same time...it proved "You can't have your Kate and Edith, too". JA>I'm 52 now and I'm wondering if some of my 'fatigue' is not related to JA>low-T. I should ask the doc specifically about that... It just takes a simple blood test...but you have to have 2 "low T readings", before the insurance will agree to pay for it. The implants are done under the skin on the buttock cheeks (they alternate), and are done 4 to 5 months apart. The numbing anesthetic (cortizone) is anything but numbing...it burns like the dickens!! But, if left unchecked, Low-T can lead to a whole host of other male problems. JA> DS> thought it stood for "Electronic Doofus" (I can relate to that!!). JA>LOL It reminds me of a story of a college electronics class. The professor wouldn't disclose what the letter in the acronym BBROYGBVGW was...the first letter in each word (Bad Boys Ravish Our Young Girls, But Violet Gives Willingly), is the first letter of the colors on the resistor. After class, one of the women asked a fellow male classmate, and when he told her, she busted out laughing...noting "that's a great way to remember it!!". Nearby, a very attractive female was grinning wryly. When asked what her problem was, she quipped "I'm Violet" . JA>Ouch... Again, good luck!!! As noted, due to lack of funds, I cancelled it. They wanted me to reschedule, and I told them "I don't have the money, let alone the gasoline for the car". So, it just has to wait.
