Subj : Ham Radio Glossary (#) To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Mon Apr 29 2019 07:05:00 Hi Daryl! DS> 0 DS> "Slashed Zero" - distinguishes a ZERO from the letter "O". DS> Intended to resolve ambiguity in callsigns like ""W0OF". Not DS> needed for callsigns like "W0RK". Can be produced by pressing DS> Alt-216 (Ø) on your PC keyboard (Note: you must use the numeric DS> keypad, not the numbers across the top row of the keyboard. This DS> method should work in most PC-based editors such as e-mail DS> clients, word processors, etc.) I'm missing something. Well, several somethings but that's a different thread. ALT_216 does produce the Ø character but I don't understand the relationship of the box-drawing symbol and the slashed zero. Could see if did an overlay function -- O overlay / -- but AFAIK overlay is not available in simple editors. So teahc me, O Master of the Brass Key! ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
