Technically yes but I think there's a mix-up in protocols: "QWK" is more how the messages are condensed/compacted to make faster to transmit -- in the old days long distance was per minute and expensive. "NNTP" is (I think) how the messages are collected and separated. As for the "1/1", looks like something is is picking up a message identifier variable: 'message #1 of 1'. I'm thinking something in your off-line mail reader and/or what you use to type your message isn't configured quite right: the "Hello 1/1" should be picking up my first name, as the next line of "on Tuesday 10.01.23 - 03:17, 1.1 wrote: ==> command is roughly: "on $DOW $dd.$mm.$yy - $t, $msg wrote" where the $msg needs to be replaced with something like $FN (first name). (The command strings are going to be more detailed as $DOW would probably pick up the current Day Of the Week from your system clock, meaning $DOW would insert whatever data was current when you composed your reply rather than the desired time when I sent my message. Anyone with better 'clues' to help or explain please feel free to step in: I haven't needed to work with the details in years. > OK, that helped, but added to the confusion: "On Saturday > 12.09.20": I'll assume month-day-year, so 2020?? ...December > 9, 2022 was a Friday; December 9, 2020 was a Wednesday.... > This is going to need a whole lot of coffee!!! AA> I decided to quit the coffee stuff. Got tired of the addiction AA> and withdrawal symptoms. That'll work! When I worked at the college I had coffee constantly: was a freebie plus a good excuse to take a quick break (I'd usually get in and get out rather than lingering. ...My secretary might have been using the same 'trick' as she'd often get me a refill. Anyway, now, not so much: about three cups in the morning (over five hours) -- have the little mug warmer to keep the cup warm. Afternoons in winter it's tea (usually flavoured) anbd evenings it's time for the hard stuff: water on the rocks! (Water chilled with ice cubes. ) AFAIK I don't have a reaction to caffeine: have had times when no coffee or only a half-cup first thing in the morning and no jitters. headache, etc. Other people very much have a reaction. ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ....
