BM> BTW, for infrared (IR) controlling appears the RPi 4 is missing LIRC -- BM> not sure as fiddling with a project here and by the time I figured out BM> what possibly to do ran out of time. I found BM> https://www.instructables.com/id/Easy-Setup-IR-Remote-Control-Using-LIRC BM> -for-the-Ra/ DS> Funny you should mention that. I went to a MagiQuest a couple of DS> years ago in Pigeon Forge TN and my kids loved it. Been thinking DS> about those wands ever since and wondering if I could rig up some DS> kind of IR sensor on the Pi and make my own little game at home. DS> I saw some information about it and I looked at a few different DS> IR sensors but put it on my list of things to do and never got DS> back to it. Some day we should get around to comparing our Round ToIt Lists! I'm still working on my little IR project: ran into a bit of a snag because the brand of TV (and so remote control) wasn't listed on the LIRC site. Seiko was but I needed Seiki. Typo maybe? Nope. There is a way to create one's own 'decoding chart' but sounds like a lot of work; did finally one on-line and troubleshooted that; hope to test today. BM> And we probably should move this thread as not really on-topic for Ham BM> radio. I'll let it be your choice for where as I received and pretty BM> sure have selected all conferences. Electronics? Could rename one that BM> hasn't been used in ages and piddle off the other SysOps! DS> Your probably right Electronics might be good!
