EV> I remember seeing those plastic battery adapters for an AA EV> bettery to be EV> slipped into it and placed in a C battery holder. EV> Seen them at Radio Shack. They're still available: I purchased some a few years ago (either Amazon or eBay) for a project. They would work fine as a size adapter but my project was trying to convert a battery-only device to be powered by a wall wart. The negative terminal of the adapter is the small battery, which without the battery doesn't exist -- oops! EV> I miss Radio Shack and K-Mart lots. EV> Sears too. I was a frequent purchaser at Radio Shack: very handy for quick purchases of components for repairs. I did also purchase some of their products: speakers, tuner-amp. Bought two or three of their phono pre-amps for other people: when they got rid of their larger stereo system for an all-in-one they discovered no phono input! AUX? Try this (the pre-amp). Sears and KMart were also popular with me. The "Bettendorf KMart" was about a two-minute drive from me (three if you missed the lights!) had a BEST submarine sandwiches!! ¯ ® ¯ BarryMartin3@MyMetronet.NET ® ¯ ® ....
