KM> Actually, I have two where the battery/card compartment won't KM> stay shut. (To be fair, one got knocked flying by overly KM> enthusiastic dog. But crap $20 camera, so. The other just wasn't KM> well-designed for actual use, and no longer catches reliably.) KM> They both wear a permanent 1/4" rubber band. Those wide rubber bands are handy! KM> The "weatherproof" camera has much better design there -- a latch KM> you have to press a button and turn a full quarter turn to open KM> it, and same to close it. So even if the edges get tired and KM> don't want to catch (see above) it will stay shut. The quarter-turn probably also squeezes the seal to make waterproof/ water-resistant. > I brought a power bank with me when I visited Austria and Slovakia. > Took a ton of pictures and a few short movies, both ate up the battery. > If there's ever a next time I'll bring both power banks. Each one is > decent, just could have used a back up. (The ones I have are about 7" x > 3" by 3/8" so relatively compact.) KM> HUGE! The one I use all the time is 1" by 3" by 0.8". It will KM> recharge the phone 5x, or run the camera through about 2000 KM> shots. I've had it about 10 years and have probably recharged KM> it.... 4 times?? I have another that's about 2x bigger, and come KM> to mention it, it seems to have wandered off. Probably sulked off feeling you abandoned it! My power pack is large -- I don't recall why it's so large - I know the original purpose was to act as a back up power supply for a Raspberry Pi. ..After it didn't switch over I learned about the parameter I needed to look for in the specs -- which of course right now I don't recall. Still useful: used for the battery of a 'flashlight' using a LED book light during power outages. Have a few of the traditional cylindrical flashlights, just not all that great for shining down into the sink while doing dishes. The battery pack is flat, put on the shelf and adjust the neck of the booklight to shine the light where needed. ¯ ® ¯ BarryMartin3@MyMetronet.NET ® ¯ ® ....
