He obviously wasn't in 'control'!  What seems naturally-we-do-it-that- 
way to one person isn't so to another.  ...I could of understand not 
equating "Ctrl" with "control" (or at least immediately).

Even that function  isn't immediately obvious: with a typewriter one does
not want two keys pressed simultaneously: causes the keys to jam.

It helps to have someone available to help get used to the machine.  
....Was thinking on my DEC Rainbow 100 there were two floppy drives.  The
top one the floppy was inserted face up but the bottom one face down. I 
don't recall who immediately obvious that was -- half-recalling arrows 
pointing up and down.

I'm semi-trained to think ^M as for a page break.  OTOH commands are not
consistent: ^K will 'kill' a line in nano (command-line text editor) yet
in SEDIT which I'm using now to reply ^Y deletes the line and ^K does 
some other function.
