Maybe I had the Mode Knob set to FM instead of AM.
It has been almost 60 years since making those recordings and can't remember.

Now the next thing I am going to do is go look at that radio to see if there is
a FM setting on the Mode Switch.
the SX-42 tunes from 530 Kc/s to 108 Mc/s .
Ain't turned it On in ages.
