Perhaps because no line to keep the keyboard stretched out. <g>
                                                               
I do find a slightly different keyboard size will cause me to mistype: 
apparently I muscle-learn the landing positions and so the relative
repositioning from one key to another keeps being updated.  ...Probably 
the tow-finger-thumb-spacer style doesn't help.
