There is probably no way to connect the phone to your pc via  
USB to use it in the network-manner that you want.  Instead,  
wireless (either BT or wifi) is the usual way.

See above. The phones themselves don't offer a direct USB-way

I just use wi-fi. The closest neighbor is 0.5 km away.

BT should be fine for you.
