Invidividuals are allowed to shoot off their own fireworks (restricted
to their own property or with permission, etc.) -- New Year's Eve hours 
were 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., so relatively noisy last night.  There were a
couple of local countdowns: boom! ...boom!  ..boom!  ....boom! 
Pop-pop-POP-pop-boom-popPOPpppop!
