Huh! I have nearly the same thing!  Probably the same moon; the stand is
a porcelain hand with the fingers curled up to hold the moon on the 
fingertips.

Yup.  Mine doesn't draw from the USB port constantly: have seen it pop 
to bright when the charge gets down.  Even when starting to need a 
charge it is sufficiently bright to see in the dark.  (Like you I leave 
it plugged in all the time.)
