Same here: at the time my need for a cell phone was primarily for 
emergencies -- car broke down, come get me type of thing.  Could leave 
it in the (locked) car, but then what about when I'm riding with 
someone?  Convenience wasn't there.

My condolences on your Dad's passing.  Bad packet is just a nuisance.  
Any tidbits of advice you would like to give us?  My Mother is 92 and 
"we've been preparing for years" which sounds horrible and morbid but 
major items like Power of Attorney and Health Directives and little 
things like having a key to the house and telephone numbers.  I think
ILink has a conference called 'Seniors' -- can move to there if you
