I tend to rely on the built-in dictionaries: LibreOffice has a pretty good
one and gives a 'squiggle line' under a questionable word.  Also will 
open another window and check on-line, usually by "define: <mispelled 
word>" and it will ask "do you mean" with the correct spelling.  ...Copy
and paste doesn't work that way though.
