  If the wind is blowing right, I can hear the train whistles several
miles away...and knowing the milepost of the crossings, I can tell how
far away he is.

  However, it seems like after dark now, you hear gunfire (I doubt it's
firecrackers). No place seems safe anymore (sigh!).
