I'm posting out messages in this packet of a "potential shutdown" next month. BM> Happy birthday anyway! Bah!! Humbug!! I was sobbing uncontrollably yesterday (they weren't tears of joy), and nearly hung up on my cousin when she called. They are saying the next stimulus deal will be in on Wednesday. I treat them saying that like when the weather folks here are forecasting snow...I'll believe it when I see it. Call me a Doubting Daryl, but when the government is handling things, I have little faith or optimism. I would love to have The Good Lord make a liar out of me, with the shutdown...He did years ago when I said I'd never marry. BM> Oh no!! ...Trying to figure out how a toilet overflows from the tank BM> -- water should have gone down the overflow tube into the bowl. Maybe BM> the fill assembly broke and shot water? I think that's what happened. They have both bathrooms torn apart right now, so there's no water, no sinks, and no toilets available for usage. I have not eaten or drank today, and may quit doing such for a few days...dehyrdration be damned. I can't even afford to stay in a hotel overnight. DS> I liked the way Introduction To Math was described in Peanuts. DS> When Charlie Brown asked his sister, Sally, if the course was DS> hard, she replied "Not at all. You just walk in, and say 'How Do DS> You Do, Math??'". BM> That was back in the Use Proper Manners Days. Yep, those days are long gone. DS> That must have translated over to her work with DS> measurements -- "10 grams equals one grampa". To which, her DS> brother (Charlie Brown) replied "Keep going. I can hardly wait to DS> see what comes next". BM> Mixing cousins with cosines? Bill Engval's routine would have been BM> "Here's your Sine"! Anyway, better get off this tangent. Sort of like when he went in for his colonoscopy, he sounded like he was sobbing when he said "I bent down, and kissed my wife goodbye..."; as if he'd never see her again. BM> And that was just at your place! In this region there have been BM> warnings of bear (he went as far as St. Louis), cougar. Several years BM> ago a hawk snatched up a little dog while the female owner was walking BM> him. Fortunately she scared the hawk which dropped the dog. A few BM> months ago had five younger deer trot down the street in front of the BM> house. There was a video the other day, of vehicles getting caught in a stampeding antelope herd. BM> All kinds of 'fun' stuff going on. I don't know if precursors to end- BM> of-the-world type events or just Mother Nature getting a little BM> restless and repositioning herself. She's off of her Prozac. :P BM> Someone has to make up that last half. %) Still nothing. If I don't have funding by April 1, I'm going into shutdown mode, in more ways than one. BM> Good news on the tax date extension plus getting the GEICO money in BM> time to pay the toilet repair bill. When you replace the rugs be sure BM> to get non-slip backing. And check periodically as some of the BM> backings deteriorate as they age; dryer heat also wil kill off the BM> backing. (Things I learned from working at the store!) The rug replacement is the least of my worries. Both bathrooms have been torn to pieces, the water is shut off, the only sink is in the kitchen, and both toilets are dead. In effect, I'm doomed. BM> It could be worse: think of the geriatric square dance caller and his BM> wife getting romantic and he gets a little confused and starts calling BM> out various sex moves! There was a caller in his 90's...he had been calling for over 70 years. He passed away last year...but was a lot of fun to dance to.
