Subj : Weather Was: Day In ER To : Barry Martin From : Daryl Stout Date : Tue Mar 09 2021 22:57:00 Barry, BM> Duck Creek (a semi-major tributary to the Mississippi River locally) is BM> close to flood stage, maybe 18 inches below. Where I see it at that BM> point starts to flood the walk and bike trail, the golf course, and BM> lower back yard of a restaurant -- not much of a problem. About a mile BM> downstream it will flood into a residential area and those basements BM> will probably become indoor swimming pools. Then, you get all that mold from the water...then all the insects, etc. At least I'm high enough where flooding isn't an issue, but the yard can become a mud bogg after heavy rain or significant snow. BM> Just for 'fun' I did a quickie search and was a maybe for new cars in BM> 2019: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-credits-deductions/ BM> discussion/i-live-in-arkansas-i-paid-2742-00-for-sales-wnid-s0 BM> I'll let you go further from there. I'm almost afraid to look...so many bad things have happened to me in the last few years. BM> So instead of spreading the joy amongst multiple people at the grocery BM> store it's all punt up and released upon the delivery person??!! Actually, by having them delivered, I don't have to worry about: 1) Wear and tear, plus gas consumption on the car. 2) Trying to find a parking place. 3) Walking through the store trying to find the needed items. 4) Getting to the checkout lines, where there are very few cash registers with people at them. 5) The registers crash, where they can't take credit or debit cards; and they ask if you can pay for it in cash (i.e. $200+). 6) Lug it to your car and put in in there, and drive home. 7) Unload it from the car. With delivery, steps 1-6 are eliminated, and they put the items on the porch, and I just bring them inside. BM> I like the convenience to being able to write notes on the furniture! Wife: What's on the TV tonight?? Husband: Dust. That's how the fight started. BM> Which isn't bad, considering the price of the windshield and the BM> labour, just all those little add-ups... It all does. I'll feel so much better when all that is behind me. While there's much more pork in the COVID-19 bill than I'd like, I could use the extra funds right now. BM> LIS somewhere a while back, it seems to me the need for adjusting the BM> time is no longer valid. I was sort of hoping they'd taken the BM> opportunity to make up their minds one way or the other back when they BM> extended DST, Major problem back then was VCRs were common and there BM> was no way to upgrade their firmware like we were able to do with BM> computers. Or the VCR blinks 1:00 on DST. DS> ... I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder. BM> Which mechanic said that about your new car?! From the same group of lawyers...Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe. Daryl ....
