Some people do!  I don't get into the mood for Christmas shopping until 
November -- and that's putting it a little tight as for years we have
had a "Family Christmas" a week or two before the 25th as we were in 
retail and combination of easier all around not to have it during the 
last-minute shopping rush and could have the holiday off and not prepare
a big dinner, host a gift exchange, etc.

Oh I do it all the time: the dog and the hydrant aren't at all close!
