Subj : I'm being slammed by thes To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Wed Oct 28 2020 08:47:00 Hi Daryl! BM> Yup, really! Our highly-paid designer suit-wearing lawyers said so! DS> Attorney: Have Lawsuit (their attire), will travel. :P Much more appropriate on the job than just grabbing a Goodyear or Michelin for their office a-tire! DS> The deal with "Disorder In The Court" comes to mind (I think DS> I've posted that in here before...if not, I can do it in a later DS> message). They have lunch in the courtroom? "Dis order mine!" BM> They should take a cue from the commercial about some depression BM> medication: person goes around in social gatherings with a stick with a BM> frowny face on one side and a happy face on the other. (The person is BM> depressed so frowning before taking the medication but 'putting on a BM> happy face'.) Should use something like that since we can't see the BM> mouth expression under the mask. DS> I was out at lunch at a local restaurant today, and instead of DS> a mask, one customer had a face shield. It reminded me when I was DS> working with the hazardous chemicals in silkscreen printing DS> (especially the lye (sodium hydroxide) related solution, that DS> helped remove the "ghost images" from previous designs, before DS> the screen was coated with emulsion again, and had a new image DS> placed with it...especially if the new image had halftones DS> (dots). Well, y'know when putting all the pieces together it's called "connecting the dots"! DS> I find it ironic that growing up, I was fascinated by DS> these halftones in the books, especially in one called DS> "Elementary School Mathematics" (which was over 50 years ago DS> now)...but when I was exposed to them with silkscreen printing, I DS> hated them. What was once thought to be fun and interesting was later thought to be a necessary evil. As for the mask, I've seen a few in my limited travels. Some people just find wearing a mask very uncomfortable. Medically a face screen might provide more protection than a mask does because the face mask also covers the eyes: another access point. DS> Some of this stuff, you could not leave on the screen very DS> long, or it would weaken the mesh, and it'd rip. Other compounds, DS> it didn't matter how long you left it on there. But, you had to DS> make sure it was cleaned off thoroughly with a pressure washer, DS> so any residue from it wouldn't cause the next application of DS> emulsion to break down. There should also have been "Elementary School Chemistry"! DS> When I worked for Burger King, the ventilation hood grease DS> screens were soaked in a tank of lye overnight, then rinsed out DS> the next morning. You didn't want that built up grease residue to DS> catch fire. They just wanted the burgers flame broiled! BM> Hmm: with a slight accent I could be a "Stout Beer-ee"! DS> Make my name a spoonerism, and I'm "Steriled Out"...true, since DS> I had that vasectomy done. But, I had real bad groin pain DS> overnight...I hope it was from the epididymytis, and not kidney DS> stones developing. I am wondering if surgery is going to have to DS> be considered. You already considered, so next! DS> As for the "Stout" (aka Guiness Stout, or Dark Guiness), my DS> late wife tried it, and didn't care for it. For me, it's my belly DS> that's rather "Stout", but I'm trying to build up insulation for DS> my winter hibernation. I'm not a beer drinker: just not all that tasty to me. DS> Seriously, portions of New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and DS> other areas, have been under Winter Storm Warnings or Ice Storm DS> Warnings. With many of the trees still having leaves on them, it DS> apparently is leading to widespread power outages. We had snow Monday morning, maybe a couple tenths of an inch - just enough to cover things. And has been cool enough here there was a little bit of snow on the car bumper yesterday (Wednesday) late morning. DS> ... Are cranberries healthy?? I never heard one complain. BM> So we know they're not Jewish! BM> ... Waiter asks table full of Jewish women "Is anything all right?". DS> Just like the meme when the Priest and a Rabbi walk into a DS> bar... DS> They all have a huge knot on their head from hitting it. :P DS> Besides, if we raise the bar, it makes it too hard to get the DS> drinks. And then it would be hard to belly up to the bar! ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ....
