Boxes for people whose mailbox number ends in 01 goes in compartment 01, box numbers ending is 02 in compartment 02, etc. They did something like at at the store where I worked except it was based on salescheck number. Next day even worse: found out early evening the mail was running late; called a little before 9 p.m. and was told the [head postmaster] in Des Moines had just ordered all carriers in and to stop delivery for the day. So something seems to be going on. Des Moines is about 180 miles west of here - a three hour drive. And the mail hub before it gets to the local post office is in Milan, IL, about 10 minutes SW. Day after the no-delivery day did get both days' mail in the middle of the afternoon, sort of the usual delivery time. DS> The app is more wrong than the weatherman with his forecast. :P Here it has been extremely accurate: if a piece of mail is pictured for being delivered that day then it shows up over 97% of the time. Package delivery is another thing: usually if says to be delivered today is today, but if the app says tomorrow might be today. Had one recently where the app said in two days and it and another one that was never listed showed up two days early! (And I do prefer two days earlier to two days later!)
