Subj : piano, LPs, Clive Cussler To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Sat Sep 26 2020 07:05:00 Hi Daryl! DS> money, I'd be glad to ship them to you. It'd cost a bunch to DS> ship, and I'm not sure which is the best way...especially DS> considering there are a large amount of books and LP's, that I BM> Obviously check around for best rate. Remember the Post Office does BM> have a Book Rate option. OTOH UPS might be able to pack for you and BM> might have better insurance. DS> Well, either way, I don't have funding to do it at the moment, DS> so it has to wait. DS> Plus, I've had bad experiences with both the Postal Service DS> (lost pieces of mail to/from me), and UPS (when still working, DS> they lost 2 shipments of 10,000 decals from my workplace to a DS> business in state... then, they said I didn't supply a power cord DS> to an item that I had shipped. I think they just pocketed it, and DS> lied about it). I've never had a problem with FedEx. Now, if DS> weather is an issue, I can understand a delay. But if weather DS> isn't the issue, then the employees are just being careless and DS> lazy. Looks like you'll be using FedEx. Didn't intend to turn this into a debate, just a reminder there are multiple rates and options out there, so can be helpful to ask. Loosing the decals seems like a good trick, but I could see how that could possibly happen: truck caught on fire, dropped off at wrong business with their multiple package shipment (and that business didn't notice or care to correct. Other maybe's. Have had problem with the Post Office: the occasional piece of missing mail. Can't think of a package issue right now but probably (and a lot of damages were more due to the shipper using flimsy containers than a 'Postal Elephant' sitting on them). FedEx, DHL, UPS: generally good luck, though do recall someone shipped to me a dog crate for my newly adopted dog and it got lost by the carrier.
