I also use BM> a blue ink: stands out from the usual black print. Interesting about the blue ink. I know that folks prefer one signs things in blue or black ink...but at one time, there were also red and green pens (remember the Bic 4 color pen??). BM> I've also gotten into the habit of dating project notes: helps to keep BM> in sequence and more easily track down "two days ago" stuff. Have been BM> applying the date stamp at a roughly 45ø angle at the upper right of BM> the sheet, which makes it stand out a little more but also gives me a BM> space to put the page number in -- start over with '1' each day. (I BM> 'and/also' make notes using LibreOffice if a computer is handy.) I'm glad there are free alternatives to the Microsoft big bucks products. With my ham radio hobby, I originally used OpenOffice, but now use the LibreOffice program to create PDF files and PowerPoint Presentations. But, doing a list of "nets" for a particular mode" got to be too much work in the PDF format...as the "full" and "compact" lists were too big. In contrast, the Excel Spreadsheet right now is only 18K in size...the PDF files were 3x or more that in size. DS> Might as well order that 7 course meal. :P The musical terms DS> Largo and Adagio I believe are for "slow". The 2 that comes to DS> mind is the Largo by George Friedric Handel, and the Adagio from DS> the Pathetique Sonata by Ludwig Von Beethoven. I used to be able DS> to play the latter on the piano. BM> Now which instrument do you use?! BM> I only play the radio and turntable. I have an old Story And Clark Piano here at the house, but it hasn't been played in ages...I'm sure it's out of tune. I have a small rotary turntable for LP records, but rarely use it. My late parents left behind a large amount of LP records, and books...especially those by Clive Cussler. I wish I knew some place that would take these...even free... as I have no use for them. But, with COVID-19, folks are really picky on what they get now. BM> Yes, saw some rather nasty news videos. Glad you're OK. We still have a risk of severe weather through Thursday...and Arkansas also has a fall severe weather season...which sometimes, is worse than what we had in the spring. In August, 2020, portions of southwestern Arkansas have had nearly 2 feet of rain. BM> I spent a bunch of money yesterday on extended-life D batteries for the BM> LED lanterns -- one set I can recharge from a 5v (USB) power pack. I have a whole slew of AA, AAA, C, and D batteries here. BM> Also the little project I've been working on so one of the smaller TVs BM> can be powered from a 12v UPS battery -- 12v to the TV and 5v to the BM> Raspberry Pi for wireless access during non-emergency use outside. You'd have to have "rabbit ears" or something similar, as most of the TV stations now can only be reached via "cable". BM> $70 seems rather high. ... Yeah: have an ad from CarX and they'll do BM> it for $20 and $30 depending on the oil type. Never had them do a BM> top-off so no idea on what they would charge. All you really needed BM> was that quart. You should try to find where that quart went -- BM> leaking or buring off some place. OTOH might be 'nothing' and just BM> easier to learn how to use the dip stick and add oil every so often. It had been several months since it was changed last. BM> No, don't want to knock yourself out. ...OTOH, would stop the BM> coughing.... As for the consideration of changing brands was thinking BM> of varying formulations: might be getting used to one and so no longer BM> having the effectiveness it did. May be less expensive per cough drop BM> but if not doing the job it was any longer.... (Not suggesting you to BM> switch unless a reason.) As I noted in another message, if I took a laxative instead of cough medicine, I'd be terrified to cough. :P DS> Reminds of the B.C. comic strip, where the "athletic cups" DS> weren't being used properly (put on the head). :P BM> Would have been the same as wearing them as socks because had athlete's BM> foot! Basically, yes. Daryl ....
