Some people find it perfectly natural, BM> satisfying, etc., to do something other people find weird if not BM> disgusting. I'm not approving, just making a statement. (Personally I BM> still find what I consider 'perverted' as disgusting.) Like with all hobbies, there are certain items that don't appeal to others in it. I'll use my hobbies as examples. Obviously, for those who are not involved, all this will sound like a bunch of gibberish. Ham Radio: My "niches" are traffic nets (the only time I'm "on the air", but I do a net nearly every night of the week), conducting license exams, and attending "hamfests". I haven't done many of either of these in the last year, due to COVID-19 cancelling things left and right. As for "modes", I do things like D-Star, D-Rats, Packet, Echolink, and Winlink. Things like Morse Code, contesting, satellites, building antennas, etc., don't appeal to me. Square and Round Dancing: Round dancing is similar to ballroom dancing, but the closest I get to it is "join hands, and circle to the left". There are 6 phases of Round Dancing, and 5 levels of Square Dancing... Basic, Mainstream, Plus, Advanced, and Challenge. When you get up to Advanced or Challenge, you also are doing DBD or APD...known as "Dance By Definition" or "All Position Dancing". You're basically not a male or a female, but the end or center of a particular formation...be it a line, ocean wave, column, diamond, hourglass, galaxy, triangle, box, etc. Those who don't dance DBD or APD are doing the "basic vanilla move" for that particular call. To me, after awhile, that gets boring...I want to exercise my mind as well as my body. BBS (something we can relate to ): Every system is different, set up by the Sysop. It can be loaded with message areas, files, doors, etc., or just have a small number of each. The main thing, though, is that ALL of these are HOBBIES...and while each can be expensive in their own way (clothing, equipment, etc.), they are still HOBBIES...and should NEVER take priority over things like church, family, health, job, or especially "honey-do's". BM> Seems toilet facilities like to play hide and go seek. DS> Do you send out a potty posse party to find it?? :P BM> Tried to but they were too tired: all pooped out. You needed a good cleaning out. Yet, my eyes are brown, so I'm just full of.... never mind. Daryl .... Error: Windows not found. Use Real Operating System?
