Subj : Shopping And Time To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Sun Jul 19 2020 09:09:00 Hi Daryl! DS> They'd never seat me on a jury involving a wreck at a railroad DS> crossing. The law of physics dictates that the train wins every DS> time. BM> Yup. So what they try to do is point to a different problem like the BM> gate not coming down or the lights failing. DS> Well, a Crossbuck means YIELD TO TRAINS...even if that's the DS> only thing there (no lights, bells, or gates). At some crossings, DS> there is also a YIELD or STOP sign. Aw heck: we thought the 'X' meant "train crosses here"! DS> If the police catch you going through the crossing while the DS> lights are flashing, they will issue a ticket. And, if you're a DS> CDL driver, you just lost it, and are going to jail. Reminds me of when there was a long traffic backup because the lights were flashing (but gates up) -- lights were mistriggered but no train. Of course us drivers didn't know that so assumed a train was coming. After a while did start to go through: good news is there is a bit of a sight distance; bad news is the sight distance isn't that long due to the trees and undergrowth. BM> ... Useless Fact: Al Pacino is not the brother of Cappuccino. DS> So, Ann Chovy is not related to Bon Jovi?? :P Sorry, nope. ¯ ® ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ¯ ® ¯ (Humans know what ® ¯ to remove.) ® ....
