Subj : Retry Resend Eggs! To : Nancy Backus From : Barry Martin Date : Tue Jul 14 2020 08:59:00 Hi Nancy! NB>> Trying again on the three you didn't get... ;) BM> Thanks! ...Check for the ones I probably should have received BM> yesterday (July 2nd): had zero to download. Normally not an unusual BM> event, just with the intermittent missing messages something to check. NB> I've been trying to keep a little closer eye on things now, NB> watching for your responses to ones I've just sent... But there NB> still is (more often than I'd like) the day (or two) I just don't NB> send out anything.... doesn't help my backlog, either, of NB> course... ;) No, though glad you're doing it -- not really my type of logging/ troubleshooting. NB>>> Just waiting for this to cycle back around... ;) Last week, on a NB>>> "it's too hot to cook, so let's pick up something cool at Wegmans NB>>> for supper" foray (Thursday, I think), I found those 2-pk packages NB>>> of hard-cooked and shelled eggs...! There was a whole slew of them NB>>> in the "quick-grab" dairy display in the front of the store... funny NB>>> I never noticed them there before... :) Grabbed one package, and as NB>>> it's good until July 7, haven't done anything with it yet, but NB>>> expect it to be an addition to a supper salad at some point... :) BM>> Horray! I haven't 'explored' to see if Hy-Vee has the hard boiled BM>> eggs. Did buy a dozen eggs at 88› -- advertised special, limit of two; BM>> got just one dozen as didn't need two. NB>> Our store still has the bags of 6 (cooked, peeled) both in organic NB>> and regular... those are in dairy, next to the uncooked eggs... but NB>> this finally answered the question of where that odd 2-pk at the NB>> checkout had come from (at least potentially).... ;) BM> Yes: doubt the store is just going to buy a case of cooked eggs just BM> for the check out. NB> The 2-pk eggs are at the front of the store with other quick-grab NB> dairy, so sorta just for the checkout... I haven't seen the 2-egg NB> packages anywhere else in the store... :) Maybe not enough received for two places, or they figured the two pack would sell as a grab-and-go item by the checkouts but someone doing their weekly shopping would buy a 6-pack and probably not a 2-pack. BM> I still haven't seen any at Hy-Vee; admittedly not BM> doing an all-out search for them but not at the Eggs portion of the BM> store. Which is 'to the left' of some meats which initially seems to BM> not make sense but transitions from (starting partway down to the BM> right) kielbasa, lunch meats, breakfast sausage, bacon, EGGS! So lunch BM> to breakfast! They're clever!! (Milk and orange juice is on the back BM> wall two aisles away.) NB> Each store has their own way of being clever in their setups... NB> ;) Yours does sound particularly clever... Things are slowly starting to make sense with the remodel! Still a lot of holes in the shelves -- either not available due to something with COVID-19 or for some reason temporarily turned off received the stock -- the COVID-19 tends to make more sense as the store and manufacturer still wants to sell. BM>>>> space between us whereas the drivers sitting lower see their hood and BM>>>> have to guess the spacing. Or could be just when I see my rear view BM>>>> mirror filled with a reflection of a semi it just looks really close! NB>>>> Probably some of each... :) BM>>> There have been times when I've been tempted to step out and check; BM>>> the problem of course is the other driver would probably think I'm BM>>> being confrontational just for getting out of the car, much less BM>>> approaching. NB>>> Yeah... probably best to just stay put and wonder... ;) Maybe you NB>>> could set up the experiment with a friend that has the larger NB>>> vehicle... have them come up behind as at a light, and then go out NB>>> and see... :) There's also the possibility that some of those higher NB>>> riding vehicles actually have less stuff in the front of their vehicle NB>>> than a shorter normal car's hood would extend... :) BM>> Possible, and right on probably best to stay in the car. ...Might be BM>> able to get by with it in an eccentric manner: use a tape measure. BM>> "Whadaya doin'?!" "Just checking for six feet. COVID-19, y'know!" NB>> [wary shake of head] Dunno about that... tempers are likely to be NB>> getting short with all the isolating people have had to be doing... NB>> even eccentric might not seem very humorous... ;) I'd only do it NB>> with someone I knew, and that was already in on the operation... ;) BM> Right: don't want to end up being a news headline! Measuring with BM> someone I knew would be a lot less dangerous (at any time!) but BM> probably skew the results. They would either know ahead of time I was BM> going to check something, so drive differently, or end up being BM> considered even more -- umm, 'eccentric' than they thought I was! NB> You could maybe just warn that at some time, you might jump out NB> of your car to check out something... not tell them exactly what NB> you want to measure, lest it influence their driving... ;) Possibly, though I still get a hare jumpy if I'm followed even if I know who's following me. NB>>> Just as easy to glance and toss into recycle, though... ;) But nicely NB>>> done might be enough of an eye-catcher to at least read once... BM>> Or glance at the back: ooo - blank! Slice with letter opener and BM>> becomes scratch paper! NB>> That works, too... ;) BM> Saves money from buying scratch pads, though have purchased because BM> 'fit the job'. Maybe need/prefer all the same size. clean edges, etc. NB> Some jobs, any piece of scrap will work... other jobs, some NB> uniformity is more helpful, especially if the scraps need to be NB> kept for a while... ;) Right on both. Some notes are temporary and are basicly jotting of a few words. Others are still temporary but a little more long term. So far none are getting yellowed. ¯ ® ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ¯ ® ¯ (Humans know what ® ¯ to remove.) ® ....
